Since 2002, the National Football Museum in Manchester has celebrated and recognised the key figures who have defined English football, inducting them into its Football Hall of Fame. The inductees span players, coaches, officials and others who have shaped the game across all its formats.
Studio Scamps and Hara Clark were delighted to take on the redesign of this much-loved space, with a brief to create an environment that feels both contemplative and celebratory.
Our concept centred on the idea of giants of the game, and we wanted the design to give structural expression to that idea. We developed a series of large, abstract figures formed from timber panels, their scale and presence reflecting the stature of those being honoured. Drawing on the museum's existing brand, we adapted elements of its logo to create a player silhouette — used at varying heights as both a structural form and a graphic element across panels and commemorative plaques. These plaques form the heart of the Wall of Fame, celebrating each inductee and building into a permanent record of the Hall of Fame's history.
